Placed in the meadleland between the uplandish “Cold Land” and the Superior Douro and Tua “Hot Land”, Azibo Lagoon Protected Landscape is marked by a under-uplandish surface of medium altitude extended between 500 to 700 mts. These agents are responsible for intermediate characteristically winters and summers between “Cold Land” and “Hot Land”. The medium yearly precipitation varies between 700 to 1000mm, irregularly distributed through the year.
The mean yearly temperature takes place between 12 and 14ºC and the yearly thermic amplitude is above 15ºC. Higher temperatures became during summer months and lower ones in winter time. So, 6,2ºC is the mean minimum temperature at January and 24,2ºC is the mean maximum temperature in July. Local wind regime is mainly NE/SW.
